Summary

Join Elevo Learning as an After School Program Facilitator and Youth Coach in Dinuba to inspire K-6th grade students through social-emotional learning and enrichment activities. You'll serve as a positive role model while fostering students' academic, physical, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities: Lead engaging enrichment activities (STEAM, music, Lego), assist with homework completion, manage student behavior for groups up to 20 students, ensure safety during outdoor activities, and distribute snacks. You'll work closely with school staff and serve as a confident, approachable mentor to build students' self-esteem.
Skills & Tools: Strong engagement and behavioral management skills with elementary/middle school children, adaptability, effective communication, and ability to utilize online platforms. Must be empathetic, patient, approachable, and able to improvise while maintaining organization and following lesson plans accurately.
Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in education, coaching, child development, or child-focused work strongly preferred. Must be eligible to work in the U.S., pass a Live-Scan background check and TB screening, and have reliable transportation.
Location: Hybrid in Dinuba, California, United States (various school sites within Dinuba School District)
Compensation: $20.00/hour

After-School Program Facilitator | Youth Mentor/Coach

Schedule: Part-time, Tuesday - Thursday 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Location: Various school sites within the Dinuba School District

Expected Hourly Rate: $20

Start & End Date: 08/07/24 - 05/29/25

THE ROLE 

  • Motivate TK/K-6th grade students through social-emotional learning and enrichment activities such as STEAM, music, and Lego.
  • Lead lessons designed to increase excitement about learning.
  • Assist with homework completion and snack distribution.
  • Effectively manage student behavior (up to 20 students) with minimal assistance.
  • Ensure student safety during outdoor activities.
  • Work effectively with staff and embrace professional development.
  • Serve as a positive role model to the students to build kids’ self-esteem and emotional wellness.

ABOUT YOU

  • Have been successful working with elementary and/or middle school kids.
  • Understand and implement engaging lesson plans while maintaining accuracy and organization in activities.
  • Effectively support kids’ behavioral management needs.
  • Connect with students and foster positive learning experiences.
  • Can improvise, adapt, and take initiative when needed by paying close attention to student needs.
  • Are approachable, empathetic, patient, and able to build trust with kids.
  • Present yourself as a confident leader and a positive role model.
  • Are comfortable utilizing online platforms for training and resources.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with school administrators, parents, and fellow coaches.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, complete and pass a Live-Scan background check, and TB screening.
  • 1-2 years of working experience in education, coaching, child development, or other child-focused experiences strongly preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Willing to follow COVID-19 protocols outlined by the school.
